What's Brewin? with Lisa

Hi and welcome, everyone! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper with you today.  Here we are on October's doorstep; it's time to start thinking holidays, and that makes me happy. I know with the holidays quickly approaching it's time to keep things simple. That's what I did with this week's SVG Attic post, simple. This card is so silly and fun, the hardest part of creating this card was typing the background paper, deciding on papers, and colors. It's a great way to use up last years Halloween stash, too.

This is a Halloween card featuring a cauldron on witches legs.

To create the background (Kraft), I typed Shakespeare's Song of the Witches from MacBeth using my old electric typewriter. I've been using my typewriter a lot lately for sentiments and my planner.
This is a Halloween card featuring a cauldron on witches legs.

All the patterned paper is from my stash, American Crafts -Spooky 6 x 6 paper pad, and I added color using Distress Inks in Black Soot, Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet, and Carved Pumpkin.
TIP: Makeup sponges are fantastic for applying distress inks. Next time you're at your local big box store pick up a cheap bag and give it a try.

You can join me on my blog, The Relativity of Paper, for all the details and step-by-step tutorial.

As always, thanks for joining us!

Fall Harvest Basket

There are lots of things to love about fall but one of my favorite is picking apples.
Tracy here from the Idea Closet.
Its been a long time since I walked around my grandpa's orchard and helped fill baskets with beautiful colored apples but every fall I am reminded of those days!

Today's project for SVG Attic is this beautiful fall harvest basket full of bright apples!

The file is from the Fall Harvest Favor Boxes.

I loved creating this basket.  It went together very quickly.  It is perfect for displaying or fill the apples with a little treat and share  with a friend.

To create the basket I used some wood printed pattern paper from doodle bug.  Tie some twine around it and add a couple of  fall leaves.

Apples come in many varieties so I created mine in three different colors and inked them up just a little.
To give the leaves a little more interest I ran them through my sizzix and then inked the edges also.
To finish them, add a brown button.

Such a fun project.

Batty Basket

Hello, Tanya from Crafting on Caffeine and I'm pretty excited to share with you today.  Halloween is just around the corner and this would make great gift basket. You could put little lotions(potions) or candy or anything you fancy.

To make this batty basket I combined 2 files. The bat is the shaker bat from JGW Steampunk Hex.  The basket is the "ghost" from Spooky Treat Baskets just cut in black.
I popped the cheeks and eyes to give more dimension.

Skeleton in a Cage ~ with Cyndy G

Happy Friday!  I am sharing some Halloween inspiration with you today.  I had a hard time trying to decide what to do for my project today so I went to the store and started browsing the Halloween section.  I saw a skeleton in a cage and thought "that is what I'm going to make!".  So here he is...

3d svg skeleton in a cage

He turned out pretty cute.  I used the Skeleton out of JGW Goul Tide Cheer and
the cage is from Welcome Spring.

I used the skeleton at it's import size and enlarged the cage as big as I could make it go.  I put some shredded paper in the bottom of the cage to lift the skeleton up a little and tied a string to his hang loop and laced it through the top of the cage.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you will share with us your Halloween decorations made with SVG Attic files!

Do what inspires you,
Cyndy G.

I think this is my favorite card of the set! I love the depth and layers of it

The submarine is from 'JGW Fathoms Deep'

Under the belly of the sub is a great place to put a gift card or other goodies.

And to finish off my little set, here's a spinner/slider card

Pumpkin and Apple Basket Fall Decor with Beth

Good morning all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today!  Fall will be here in just a couple of days, so I created this fall decor to share with you.
For the apple basket, I used the file from JGW Fall Ensemble.  There is a great tutorial HERE to help with assembly.  Papers are from DCWV's Pumpkin Patch stack.  I added a small bow of Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine to the front.
The pumpkin is from the JGW Falling Leaves set.  Tutorial for that is HERE.  The leaf with vine is from the JGW Sam the Scarecrow set and it worked perfectly on the pumpkin!  Once again, all the papers are from DCWV's Pumpkin Patch stack.  I wrapped some Totally Chocolate and Spiced Pumpkin Trendy Twines around the pumpkin.

Here is a look at the sets that I used:

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

A Terrifying Tie with Lisa

Hi and welcome, everyone! Lisa, from The Relativity of Paper, sharing this Terrifying Tie with you.
I was thinking the other day, what do you do for the guy at the office for Halloween? While you're handing out all your ghoulish goodies, wouldn't it be fun to do something different for the guys? So, I sat down at my computer and started brainstorming and came up with this Terrifying Tie idea.
Just by changing up the paper I use on the Tie Treat Box from the SDS Love You Daddy Kit from SVG Attic.

Halloween themed 3D Tie Treat Box using SVG Attic Love You Daddy Kit

I'm telling you this box is so easy to assemble. I used three - 12 x 12 pieces of cardstock, two green and one patterned paper. I picked the patterned paper because of the chevron design and the skeleton at the top and added a few stickers.

This box is big enough to hold cookies, a cupcake or mini cupcakes.

As always, thanks for joining us and we hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Mason Jar Treats

Nothing says Fall like Mason Jars.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet sharing my newest project from SVG Attic.

Jam, pie filling, apple sauce or even pickles, it doesn't matter, ever since I was a little girl, September was the month to bottle.  Soon after I got married my Grandmother gave me  ALL  of her jars. Every September when I pull them out, I think of her.

That's why I love these beautiful mason jars from the JGW Canning Essentials Kit.  The short jar file can be found in the Silhouette Design store HERE.

Fill the Paper Mason Jars with your favorite fall candy (chocolate and caramel right?) Then share them with some one special.

The jars are easy to put together and Jodi has all the instructions here.

To add a little bit of color to the jars, use printed card stock in the smaller windows instead of the acetate (or transparency).

The pattern also comes with instructions to make a fabric topper.
I wanted to use some of the printed paper on the lid so instead of the topper I added ribbon, twine and leaves.

This was such a fun project I hope you will try it then share your design with us on Facebook.

The Batty Couple

Please let me introduce you to my Batty Couple. They love to get dressed up (notice the bows) and party with lots of candy! I-Team Tanya from Crafting On Caffeine here today  and I'm so excited about all the new bats.  This bat is from JGW Night Enchantments, it is the Bat Trapezoid Box and so easy to assemble!

Like I said early if you are going to a party you need bows! Both bows are made with Trendy Twine. The girls bows are Grape Licorice and the boys bowtie is Black Licorice.

Thank you so much for stopping by please leave some blog love.

Off With Her Head ~ with Cyndy G

Happy Friday!  Today I am going to share with you a super fun project I created using several kits.  Halloween is right around the corner and as you know the Holidays sneak up on us and we don't get the crafting done we have planned, so this year, I'm trying harder to be on top of my Holidays!

Queen of Hearts crown, mask and shoe

I just love how everything turned out.  The paper is Graphic 45 - Halloween in Wonderland.

3d paper crown

This crown is from JGW Off to the Ball.  There is an additional piece to the band that I left off to make the crown small - so it is more like one the Queen of Hearts would wear.  I plan on attaching this to a headband so I can wear it. :)

3d svg Masquerade mask

This masquerade mask is from JGW Night Enchantments I have left off the stick for the mask because I don't want it to get bent before Halloween.  I plan on using the mask for Halloween as well.  The rose is in Be Mine and the feathers are from the Mourners Hat in the JGW Raven Quest.

3d masquerade mask

I cut the cards out of the paper.  I just adore this collection!

3d paper high heel shoe

The high heel shoe is from JGW Fashionably French.

3d paper shoe - back

I had so much fun putting all this together.  I hope you enjoyed it!  Happy Crafting!

Do what inspires you,
Cyndy G

Back to School

Hello SVG Attic fans! DT Sonja here. Today I bring you a pop up box card from the SDS Gearing Up 4 School file.

Both of my kids start back to school today, I think we must be the last school district in the US to be starting so late! But today marks an even bigger achievement, my youngest starts preschool.

To show our gratefulness for the ever so hard job of teaching I made this card for the assistant that will be helping the teacher this year!
I changed a few things on the card to make it more specific to the teacher.
I added the 'Preschool' at the top as well as the teachers name.
The ABC and 123 blocks are from the Alpha Blocks set
The two things my daughter really wanted to do at orientation was color and paint. So I decided to pick up a set of markers and paint to give to the teachers.
