Back to School Photo Prop

Today I wanted to share with you the photo prop I created for my kids' back to school pictures.  I used the Chalkboard from SVG Attic's Back 2 School kit.  It is actually a card, and a very pretty one at that.  But I knew it would be perfect for what I had in mind!
Instead of using the included sentiment for the chalkboard, I used a free printable from Jones Creek Creations and just sized it to fit the inside of the chalkboard.  I embossed the outside of the chalkboard with a woodgrain embossing folder and distressed it with brown chalk ink.  To embellish, I used some Trendy Twine along the bottom and school themed buttons.
The best part is that I adhered the printable with repositionable adhesive, so I could use the same prop for my Pre-Schooler too!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Fall Gift Boxes & Cart

Hi, Shary here today from The Other Side Of Me and I'd like to show you a gorgeous gift idea for Fall or Autumn as we say in UK. :0) from SVGAttic.
You can certainly tell Autumn is on its way here, there's a definate chill in the air. We're all getting our jumpers out again.
So onto my project. When I saw this kit I knew I had to make it, you know from my previous post that I like to have a little table decoration? Well this one will be my Autumn one.

I've used the Fall Harvest Favour Boxes SVG kit. This cart and apple gift boxes are only a 1/3 of the kit there is also a basket, wheelbarrow and some pumpkin and hay bale gift boxes to put in them.
I used a paper pad from Crate Paper called Farmhouse as it had some great Autumnal colours.

Here's a close up of the apple gift boxes. So cute and enough room in them for some sweets or a little toy. I embossed the leaves to give them a bit of texture.

This is a great kit to get your kids involved with too , they'll love the little gift boxes!
I hope you enjoyed my Autumn inspiration. See you soon.

Book Worm Bookmark

Today I wanted to share a very quick bookmark that I created for my son using the Back to School files from SVG Attic.
I inked around the die cuts with tan and brown chalk ink, stamped a face on the worm from Peachy Keen stamps then added doodle dots.  I layered the die cuts on white and then black cardstock.  The tassel was made with Christmas and Black Twine.
The finishing touch was the apple paper clip on the top!

I have to share with you, that SVG Attic is having a 20% OFF SALE right now!  So if you want to get the file I used on bookmark or if you have some sets on your wishlist, now is the time to get them :)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Christmas Wish with Julie

Hello, and happy Tuesday!  Julie here today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  There's a chill in the air at night here in Northern Wisconsin, reminding all of us that Fall is just around the corner, and Christmas is not that far away.  I've been trying to make several Christmas cards each month throughout the year.  With the help of the delightful SVG Attic JGW Sweet Wishes Card Kit, I've managed to get more than several made this month (pat on the back).  Today, I'm showing you 2 cards, but it's one variation of the same theme.  I used the Vintage Sleigh card to make these:

Both cards are pretty similar, with the only exception being I used designer paper on the sleigh on the top card.  I love how lacy and wintery the sleigh looks!
This JGW Sweet Wishes Card Kit is a wonderful kit -- check it out for yourself!
Don't forget to visit this blog often for tons of great inspiration!

Bird House Card- with Melissa

Hello Friends!  I hope you all had a terrific time at the blog hop this weekend!  So fun to see what everyone makes and I don't know about you, but I am glad the kids are on their way back to school!  If you hopped- Be sure to check and see if you are a winner too!
Today I have this little card to share.  I used the Stars and Stripes card kit along with the Flourished Spring kit to give the adorable bird house card a different feel.  I added the sentiment to the inside of the card- so that I could decide how to use it later.  Thinking of you, Happy Birthday, Get well... endless possibilities!
Most importantly, we buy kits because we love what we see, but it's good to look at them all differently too and see how else we can use them.  Sometimes it's a major tweak and sometimes, its as simple as using new colors and different embellishments to give your kit a whole new life.  I hope you find yourself inspired today!

Happy Crafting! ~Melissa

Spring Fling with Shary

Hiya and I'm so pleased to show you my first blog project with SVG Attic.
I have made a gorgeous little project that you could use as a centre piece for your garden table (if the weather is good!) or even to use inside to brighten any room up.
I have used the Spring Fling kit

Here's my project

Firstly I made up the tray box using a Kraft cardstock. I distressed it a little using some distress ink around the edges. The pinwheels have littel beaded embellishments in the middle to make them look extra pretty and I used green bendy straws to make them stand up in the tray. I made the kite and used acetate to stand it up and some blue twine to make it's tail and string.

I'm hoping you like what I made with the Spring Fling kit and have a go at making one yourself. It really is a lovely, summery kit.

Christmas in August with Julie

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Julie here today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. I'm trying to get a jump start on my Christmas cards, making one or 2 a month so the task isn't so overwhelming when the holiday season arrives.  SVG Attic recently released a new Christmas card kit, and it was just the inspiration I needed to make a Christmas card:

This card is part of the JGW Sweet Wishes Card Kit.  It is larger than most cards I make, measuring 5x7 -- plenty of space to catch up with family and friends.
Here's another angle:

I used some retired Christmas papers from Close To My Heart on this card, and the bling is from my stash.
Visit this blog each day for tons of great inspiration and ideas using the wonderful SVG Attic kits.

Monster Goes HTV with Courtney

I have a project up today that is a new venture for me
HTV ~ Heat to transfer Vinyl

I love for my son to have personalized shirts, so I thought I might give it a try.  And my oh my is it addicting.  Anytime you need a shirt you can cut and press and voila you have a shirt for any occasion.

I thought I would start with an adorable image from SVG ATTIC called Mommy's Monsters

I really am pleased with the result.
For the name I used the Nested Alphabet.
I only used 2 of the layers.

This little guy just makes me smile.

I hope you enjoyed my project.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a fabulously crafty day !! ♥
