Blast Off with Tracy

Do you know a couple of boys who love outer space?  I do and I found the perfect way to give them a fun little gift!
Tracy here from the Idea Closet and I want to share my latest project with you.

SVG Attic has some great files that any little (or big)  "astronaut" will love.

The rocket file comes from the JGW Outta This World Collection.
I love this, the top cone comes off  making  room for any candy or treat you would like to fill it with. There are many decorating options available with this file as well.

Jodi has easy to follow instructions here.

The Porthole box actually comes from a file in the CG Under the Sea Collection.
One night while I was watching The Martian at home with my husband, I saw  Matt Damon  looking out a Porthole, and I thought why not make the sea porthole a space porthole?

The top of the lid is a shaker card.  Instead of sea weed and shells I filled it with stars, the moon and a rocket made from the card box in the JGW Out of this World collection. ( I did have to shrink it down a bit to fit inside the window.)

This is a one piece box that opens up with room for more treats, cash or a small gift.

Here are the two collections I used to make this project.

Fall is Coming...

Hello and Happy Monday! Tanya from Crafting on Caffeine here today. I haven't posted for a while, been on vacation and getting kids ready to go back to school. I'm ready for fall now so I thought I would do a few projects to get us in the mood!
I received a beautiful DCWV Stack from a great friend and know instantly what I wanted to make. Ok maybe not instantly because now I might need another stack to do the other ideas, lol.

The first one I want to introduce to you is the Maple Leaf Box from "JGW Falling Leaves"
Such a fun and easy box to assemble.  Love adding accent with my eBrush!

This next box is the 3D Acorn Box from the "JGW Harvest Blessing"  I am truly in love with how this turned out!

I also used the following to put both of my projects together!

3d Whale Hinged Box

This is a simple little box that has a big impact.  He is so cute and would make a great party favor!

He's got enough room for some yummy treats in his tummy!
The paper I used is Graphic 45, By The Sea.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

A Retro Affair

When I saw the dress maker file, I though right away a retro skirt on that would be cute. So that's what I set out to do!

DT Sonja here bringing you this cute dress from one of the newest files, Just Sew.
To start with, I did the stand, then the body, and then the dress portion. For the skirt, I simply took the dimensions of the middle portion (waste reinforcement without the tabs on it) and inserted it into a circle.

To get the ripple effects on the skirt, I took a round took and molded/shaped the bottom of the circle until I was happy with the flow.
I felt that under the skirt a small addition of lace would tie in with the lace belt and flower.

 The back of the dress
All in all, the completed project stands about 16 1/2" tall.

This set is just AMAZING and has SO MANY to look forward to making in just ONE set!
You have cards and gift boxes all in such fun shapes. Have I mentioned how talented Jodi is?

So here is my mermaid card when it's closed up. It's like an oyster clam shell :)

Petrifying Pumpkins

Hi, everyone! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing my version of "petrifying" pumpkins.
I know what you're thinking! Halloween already?" Sure, it never hurts to be ahead of the holiday, right?  I created my petrifying pumpkins using the 3D Block Pumpkin from the JGW Falling Leaves Collection.   This pumpkin is very easy to resize and assemble.

This is a picture of three paper-crafted block pumpkins decorated with Halloween stickers.

The paper is by The Paper Studio - Jeepers Creepers, and the stickers are Chillingsworth Manor by Echo Park Paper Co.

Back to School Projects

Today is back to school at our house.
I thought it would be nice to create a couple of projects in honor of the day.

These projects would be great to give as teacher gifts but I think I am going to use them for our "homework" desk here at home.

I started with the Desk Organizer.
I love all the little drawers and the side pockets.  Perfect for storing all of your desk supplies in one place. (I need this!)

Crayon boxes are perfect for elementary kids but what about high schoolers or teachers?
Give them a fun decorated box filled with some m&m's or other treat.  I placed a plastic transparency in the window to keep the treats inside the box.

The last project was this book.  I used a Halloween file (book of spells) and changed it up (a lot).
I omitted all the spooky Halloween stuff and on the spine, instead of using the decorative strips I used washi tape.

3 fun projects to get you excited for back to school!

Apple Core Treat Holder with Beth

Good morning crafty friends!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.   It is back to school time here and I always like to give my boys a treat on their first day of school, which happens to be tomorrow, and this is what I went with this year.
I knew I had to make a sweet apple core treat holder.  I have always loved that file!  It comes from SVG Attic's G is for Gratitude set.

For the treats, I started off with Medium Candy Bags that fit Hershey's Nuggets perfectly!  I wrapped the candies with patterned cardstock and added the topper.
The toppers use the chalkboard and apple files from SVG Attic's Back to School set.  They are sized to be 2" across to match the width of the candy bag.  I finished them off with a bow of Cherry Midnight Trendy Twine.  All the patterned papers in this project are from DCWV's Grade School stack.
For more details on this project, you can stop by my blog, Beth's Beauties.

Here is a look at the sets that I used to create this project:

A Whale of a Gift

DT Sonja here with this little ocean set that is part of the JGW Fathoms Deep set at SVG Attic.

I fell in LOVE with the whale knowing that the scaly coastal paper I had from DCWV would be perfect.

This little hinged whale box is a great way to hide gifts or treats in his belly!
I loved doing the whale so much,

it then led me to doing the Seahorse card.

And then of course I had to do the seashell as well!

I finally had to stop there though!

Materials Used:
DCWV 'Coastal' Stack

Scotch photo splits
Silhouette Cameo
Aleene's Original Tacky glue

Scotch Advance Tape Glider
