Beach Bag and Fish Cards

Happy July 4th! Tracy  here today and  I hope everyone is having a fun and safe holiday.

Today is my turn at SVG Attic and when I saw this new collection
Grab The Bait, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

We have a family reunion/ lake trip planned for later this week and I  thought it would be fun to have some little handouts or favors.

To start with I turned the Creel 3D flat Gift Bag into a beach bag.
The paper is from Echo Park and I just love all the bright colors.
I think I will fill the bag with Fish Crackers; it will be a perfect gift for the little ones!

I love the little magnetic fish in this kit...

... so I turned them into cards.

Its very easy to do, just decide if you want them to open from the side or the bottom, then mirror a copy of the offset base and weld.
I was able to delete some of the pieces since they didn't need to be as thick and heavy as the magnetic fish.

For the blue fish I cut part from blue glitter paper and for the smaller orange fish I used printed paper.

I am really happy with how these turned out and think I will make the rest of the fish.
They will make cute cards that can be tied to more  goody bags.

Be sure to get you kit here and if you need the tutorial, Jody has made it so easy, just follow the instructions here.

Thank you again for joining me.

By the Sea ~ with Cyndy G

Happy Friday.  Today I am sharing a project using files from SVG Attic's - JGW Fathoms Deep.  I used the top piece of the Claim Shell Box.  I got the idea from Annes Paper Creations.

First I cut the base of the shell three times - once out of Chip board and twice out of Vanill Cardstock to cover the front and back of the chipboard.  Next I cut the panels out of decorative paper.  I used Graphic 45 - By The Sea.  I raised every other section of the shell by using strips of foam tape under the panels to give the shell the feeling of ripples that you find on a real claim shell.

I did a lot of fussy cutting and used Mod Podge on all the pieces before assembling the project.  This helps protect your fussy cut pieces from tears and it really makes the base solid.  Finally I added a self adhesive picture hook to the back so it can be hung.  The overall size of the project is about 5x7.  Thank you for stopping by.

Under The Sea ~ with Cyndy G.

I am super excited to share with you today a new kit I created CG Under the Sea!  The inspiration for this kit was the Graphic 45 collection Beneath the Sea.

Up first is the Deep Sea Diver Slider Card.  This was my first time making one of these
and I am definitely going to make more.  They are very fun.

The elements of the cards are also included as jpg's for those of you who prefer to print and cut.  The card will fit a standard A7 envelope, so it shouldn't cost you too much to mail!  I have friends that still mail cards and I try to design with the cost of postage in mind.

There is also a Sub Box Card.

Submarine box card

This one was so much fun to create.  You can also use an A7 envelope for this card.

Next up is the 4x6 Nautical Box.
I don't know about you but I just LOVE the Ephemera Cards from Graphic 45.
So I decided to make a little box that you could make and highlight a 4x6 ephemera card.

4x6 box

There is also a Porthole box.  This cute little box has a porthole shaker attached to the top.

I used decorative paper as the background for the shaker.

Lastly, their is a Cabana Milk Carton Box because you need somewhere to change into your wet suit.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the new kit CG Under the Sea.

Here is a list of the products I used:

Beach Card with Tracy

Summer is in full swing and as I have mentioned before its my favorite time of the year, and my favorite place to be in the summer is by the water.

Today for my project  I created this Beach Step Card

This is a large card and would be perfect as a center piece for a party or summer get together as well as wishing some one a bright day.

To create the card I used two files from SVG Attic.
Start with the Step Card SVG Collection
There are 5 cards to choose from and all would work but I liked the wide middle card for this project.

Next add a few of the images from the Just Beachy SVG Collection

The collection was designed for scrapbooking but it is perfect for the Step Cards.

Choose a few of the images you want to use, cut them out, assemble and add to the card with glue or foam pop dots.

Here are a couple of close ups

The sand castle is made up of different layers.
Glue the sun to the back of the card and then add the finished castle with pop dots.

To create the water, cut the layers out of two different shades of blue.
Separate the layers with the foam pop dots and then add to the card with more pop dots.

Add a few of the images like the bucket, flip flops and sea shells in between the layers of water.

I was very happy with the way this card turned out and am excited to try some others with different themes.  I hope you will try one as well.  Then come visit me at my blog for more ideas and projects.
