Bird Houses ~ with Cyndy G.

Hello.  Thank you for stopping by.  Today I am sharing with you a project from SVG Attic using SDS Home Tweet Home.  These little bird houses are so cute and very easy to put together.

The cute little tag is from JGW Made of Snow.  The stamp is from the Graphic 45 - Time to Flourish set and the paper is Enchanted Forest.  I tied it all off with some Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine.

Last week was National Volunteer Week and I made 20 of these as a Thank You gift for our
Master Gardener volunteers that came for a luncheon to honor them.

Spring Showers

Happy Monday! This post is brought to you because our weather has been very much spring like. Hope you enjoy! Tanya from Crafting on Caffeine here today. I used the following SVG Attic collections to put this together:

For the Birdie I used the following to pull it together:

For the card I wanted to give the 3D feel so I combined the umbrella from the Spring Swag to the sentiment. I turned the sentiment into a card.
I also used the following to pull it all together:

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please make sure you check back again soon.

Birds and the Trees

One of my favorite trees in the yard is starting to get little buds on it! Since the cherry blossom tree only blooms for a brief period, I decided to make a model of it!

To start with, I used the 3D Bare-Branched Tree.

I wanted the tree to have wood grain on it. I printed a wood grain pattern front and back on brown paper before I cut out each shape. Then I cut out flowers and leaves on white cardstock. Each flower and leaf is painted with color from my eBrush.

Each flower/leaf was then hand curled and a pearl attached to the center. To curl the flower petals and speed up the time, I simply put them in the tip of an eBrush adapter and pushed it through with the bottom of a quilling tool.

The only downside to doing it this way was the more the glue dried on the pearls, many of them popped off so I had to reattach them again!

After all the flowers were complete it was time to add the leaves. I decided to do the leaves now so I wouldn't have to try and attach them to a 3D surface!

Next I made a birdhouse (not pictured yet) from the Home Tweet Home set.

And what is a birdhouse without a bird to occupy it?! So I used the 3D Birdie Box from the same set (Home Tweet Home). However, because I was working with a tree, I wanted the house and the birds to be somewhat to scale.

Which means reducing the sizes of the files considerably! I started the bird's off by cutting them out of white cardstock. Then I was able to paint them the color of my choice with the eBrush.

Once assembled, it was no larger than the dime.

I then cut out the grass from SnapDragon Snippets 'Grass and Borders' file and their 'Flourished Flower' set.

Once I put it all together, I think it flowed nicely together to capture my favorite cherry blossom tree!

I sure hope we are well on our way to spring!

Spring is in the Air ~ with Cyndy G.

I know some of you are still getting snow but here in the South, the flowers are starting to bloom!  Today I decided to share a spring project and with Easter right around the corner - it's very early this year - it's time to start thinking spring.

The egg is the pineapple out of the JGW Tropical Haven kit.  I hinged the top with one of the decorative panels.  Instead of gluing the tab over the top of the egg, I glued it to the lid. The paper on the egg is from Graphic 45, Once Upon a Spring Time.  This is one of my favorite stacks!

The bird is from the SDS Home Tweet Home kit.  He is a little box.  I shrunk mine down to 2" so he would fit in the egg.  I just love how he turned out.  Thank you for stopping by today.

Cyndy G.

Friends Make Life Colorful -- with GD Julie (and a giveaway)

Hello, my SVG Attic friends, this is Julie from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. It's good to be back! I'm pleased to be guest designing today.  I was on this design team for awhile, switched to the sister team, Snapdragon Snippets, but jumped at the chance to guest design for Beth and my SVG Attic sisters again.  I love all the wonderful SVG files in the Store!

I used two different collections today -- SDS Home Tweet Home and the Step Card SVG Collection.

The one-story birdhouse is only part of the fun in the SDS Home Tweet Home kit.  There are 2 more adorable houses you can construct, too (plus a blue bird box and a birdhouse card).

Papers for both these projects are from Close To My Heart.  They are retired, but still one of my favorites.  The crinkle ribbon on the birdhouse is from 3 Girl JAM.  You'll be seeing more gorgeous ribbons during the upcoming joint hop with SVG Attic and 3 Girl JAM on August 15th.

The step card is one of 5 designs that come in the kit. This is the center step card:

This image, from Polkadoodles, was colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is a stamp from Close To My Heart.

When I was given the opportunity to guest design, I was given a gift certificate.  I'd like to pass that gift on to one of you.  To win, please visit my blog and become a follower.  Leave a comment on today's post here, and on my blog.  Visit my blog again on August 15th for the joint SVG Attic/3 Girl JAM blog hop, and again when I guest design on August 19.  I'll pick a winner from the comments for the gift certificate.

I want to once again thank Beth and the SVG Attic design team for giving me this opportunity to guest design.  I'll be back again in a couple weeks.  Yea!
