Introducing I-Team Member ~ Cyndy Gustashaw

Hello everyone!  My name is Cyndy Gustashaw.  This is my second term on the SVG Attic I-team.  I hope I am able to continue to inspire you with my personal touches using SVG Attic files and hope you will enjoy using them as much as I do.

Cyndy Gustashaw

I am married to a wonderful man.  He thinks it's great that I have a craft I enjoy doing.  We have five children ranging in age from 30 - 5 years.

I was born in Virginia and raised in Southern California which I still refer to it as home.  I moved to North Carolina 23 years ago and live in the Charlotte area.  I love experiencing the seasons change.
I love photography and scrapbooking which evolved into paper crafting and have been doing them for over 20 years.  I like simple clean lines, less is more for me.

I have lots of favorite projects. For my introduction today I have chosen the new JGW 3D Button Jointed Bunny.  This little guy is so cute!

I used Graphic 45 - Once Upon A Springtime.  I absolutely love this paper!

3d Jointed Paper Bunny

Our garden at work is in bloom, so I took advantage of the sun and flowers.
I love spring!  It is my favorite time for taking photos.

I love his little tail.  Doesn't he have the cutest little face.

I know as you look at this project some of you are thinking he looks too difficult but if you take your time and don't rush it you will have him together before you know it.  I started with the arms, legs and feet - these are very simple shapes.  Then I tackled the head and body. I had the most trouble with the ears!  It took me two and a half days to cut and put him together but I think he was worth the time.

I hope you have enjoyed my project.  I look forward to sharing more with you.

Do what inspires you!

Introducing I-Team Member Beth Fiscus

Hello everyone!  My name is Beth Fiscus.  I have been a part of the SVG Attic inspiration team for about two years, so you probably know of me or have seen some of my projects already.  I am the Inspiration Team Coordinator and hope to share my love of these wonderful files with the rest of the new team and all of you.  My personal blog is Beth's Beauties and I'd love for you to stop by for a visit sometime!
I have a wonderfully supportive husband, who encourages me to be creative!  We live in a small town of 600 people, where everyone knows everyone else :)  We have three very energetic boys, ages 8, 5, and 2 who definitely keep me busy!  For the most part, I am a stay at home mom, but I am a nurse by occupation and I work in a local nursing home 1-2 nights per week.

Here is a little bit more about myself...
Born and Raised:  Nebraska- I grew up on a farm where I learned so very much about family, religion, hard work and dedication.  It is also where I was taught how to sew and do hand embroidery at the age of 5, which planted the seed of creativity in my heart!
            Places I've Lived: NEBRASKA
Style: I can't say that I have a specific style.  I love elegant and fancy things, but I create with all different mediums, vinyl, paper, fabric, wood, the list goes on and on.
Favorite Project:  My favorite project changes with the seasons, and since it is spring, this is my current favorite:

The sets I used on this project were:

You Color My World

For this month's post, I made a card from the Happy Easter Collection.  When I saw the brush and the paint drip I knew I wanted to make an art related card.
I took the egg on the front and transformed it into a paint palette by adding different size circles and joining them to the original egg using Make The Cut.

I cut everything on my Cricut, including the watercolor paper so I could drop some watercolor and acrylic paint on the panel as well as the color wells.

On the inside of the card I followed the same theme using card stock with color drips and smears.

I stamped "You Color My World" with a Unity Stamp I just received in the mail yesterday.  Perfect timing, Unity!!

There is a tutorial to put this card together on the Kneedles and Knowledge blog for your convenience.

This file also comes with a matching envelope.  I used the same color of cards stock as the front panel and the designer paper on inside panels for the envelope.

Well, my friends, sad to say this is my last post as an Design Team member.  I want to personally thank Beth Fiscus for having faith in me and choosing me to be a member of the team for the six month duration.  I enjoyed using SVG Attic files and modifying them into different projects.  I will miss the excitement  of the blog hops for sure, but especially the camaraderie with all the people associated with SVG Attic!

I turned down the request to continue as a member because my husband and I will be traveling in the summer and, of course, I'll be away from my computer!

I hope I will be able to contribute in the future if there are other opportunities to join the team again!

Keep on crafting, I know I will!!

Easter Treat Baskets with Beth

Hello SVG Attic fans!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here today with some Easter baskets.
First us is this super sweet woven basket from the Cottontail Bunny kit.  I inked all the colored weaving strips with brown chalk ink to add a little distressing.  The basket is quite simple to assemble and there is a tutorial for it HERE.  For a finishing touch, I added several colorful buttons to add visual interest.
This treat bag is so cute!  It is also from the Cottontail Bunny kit at SVG Attic.  I had fun picking out the different colors of papers to use on it.
If you are want to look for more Easter SVG kits, you can find them HERE!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Chevron EOS Lip Balm Treats ~ with Courtney

Chevron + EOS = LOVE

I just love all things Chevron and the ways to use the EOS lip balm capsules are brilliant.

So when a friend asked me to make a few EOS favors for a tea party, I knew just what to do.

I started with the Chevron Flowers.  I resized them, (with proportions checked) to 4.409.  The center circle came out exactly the size needed for the EOS capsule.  I cut two layers.  One chevron pattern and one solid with a coordinating color.  Then I used the leaves from the Apple Card from Gearing Up 4 School.  I used dimensionals to pop the leaves away from the flower.  I inserted the capsule.  Added a bit a bling to the leaves and I had darling little tea party treats for some sweet young ladies.

They were so much fun to cut and assemble.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have a fabulously crafty day!  ♥

Bunny Box

I hope everyone enjoyed the Spring Hop as much as we did.  I am so happy to see spring!  I have to admit it is my favorite time of year.  For my project today I made the cute little bunny box from the new JGW Happy Easter Kit.  Added bonus, I got to use more of my Graphic 45 - Once Upon a Springtime.

Bunny box

He was so quick and easy to put together that I made a little family!

Doesn't he have the cutest little face.  There is just enough detail to give him character.

It's Always Tea Time

I got my inspiration for today’s post from Alice.  Alice in Wonderland that is.  I bought a gigantic coloring book with Alice In Wonderland illustrations and then I remember there was a file in the SVG Attic shop with all the elements I needed to make a 12×12 mixed media canvas.
The file I used, Mad Hatter Tea Party currently being remade to be compatible with all cutting machines and you can check the store at a later time for it if you don’t already have it.
I started out by applying Mod Podge and pretty napkins to the bottom layer.  Then I found more Alice in Wonderland images on Google and printed those because I wasn't about to cut up my fabulous coloring book.

After the first layer was dry, I added a couple of vintage doilies, and the Alice and the Mad Hatter to the middle right corner.  On top of that layer, I added Dye-Na-Flo fabric paints which are translucent, but permanent after drying them with the heat gun or ironing on fabric with a hot iron.

I downloaded the Alice in Wonderland free font and welded the title “It’s Always Tea Time!”  as well as the “Drink Me tag.”

I also used a stencil and black distress paint for the clock and.  The Mad Hatter’s hat has the tag with 10/6 on it.  If you look closely at the bottom of the canvas you can also see the Queen of Hearts, The White Rabbit, and The Knave of Hearts.  I also added stamps, rub-ons and stencils
All the elements were cut with my Cricut using DCWV paper.
This is going in my kitchen because we love tea and it will remind us that we can drink it any time we want.
Thanks for coming over and happy crafting!!

Let's go on an Adventure ~ with Angeline Choo

Stucked at work? Need a break? Longing for a holiday?

Well, I made a travel suitcase -- and I'm ready for an adventure!! :)
Well, ok.. Not really going to Hawaii at this moment, but one can dream right? :)

I actually turned the First Aid Box from the "Feel Better soon" kit into a travel suitcase! I love that the kits from SVG Attic are always so versatile and could be changed from it's original intended "design".

I got some travel themed stickers and layered them on the suitcase, reminding me of all those nasty sticky stickers that I find so difficult to get off your suitcase at times. I even made a luggage tag and tied it with twine to the handle.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you have an awesome adventure this week.

Don't forget to check out the Design Team Call we have right now.

Spring Blocks ~ with Courtney

With it being nearly spring I was quite happy to make a little Spring Decor.

I used the 3D Block Pumpkin from the Falling Leaves  Collection.  I cut out three blocks.  I used my favorite paper ever,  Coredinations Whitewash Collection.  After assembling, I distressed the 'blocks' with Dew Drop Rich Cocoa Inks.  I then cut out 3 tulips from the Easter Elements SVG Collection  and the grass as well.  I used the negative cut from the grass to add dimension.  I love to use the Stampin' Up dimensionals.  I added them behind the 3 layers of tulips and to the grass.

I think they turned out so cute.

I hope you do too.

Thank you so much for taking time to look.
