Pot Of Gold with Beth

Hello everyone!  Over the last couple weeks there have been some changes at SVG Attic.  Most importantly, it has switched owners.  SVG Attic is now owned by Mike and Kenzie Daley who are the creators of SnapDragon Snippets.  They really have wonderful designs available in the Silhouette store, so head over there to check them out!

For this week's project I combined the Pot O' Gold file by SnapDragon Snippets with the Go Green set from SVG Attic to make this darling St. Patrick's Day decoration.
I sized the Pot O' Gold file so that the biggest piece was 11.5" to make it as large as I could.  Next I sized the shamrock border from the Go Green set to 0.5" tall.  I cut the base from green adhesive vinyl and the top layer out of gold glitter vinyl.  Using vinyl made the layering and adhering to the pot a breeze!  I used 3.5 lengths of the border to go all around the top.  I also saved some of the negative shamrock cuts out of the gold vinyl for embellishments for the bottom of the pot.
Around the middle of the pot, I wrapped jute ribbon first, then added embroidery floss in the colors of the rainbow for a pop of color.  The shamrock is from the Go Green set.  I added a twine bow and the sentiment tag to finish it off.
At the bottom I added another shamrock that I cut out, several green sequins, the gold vinyl shamrock cuts that I saved from the border and tiny dots of gold glitter.
Best of all, the pot also opens up so it can hold even more treats!

UPDATE:  You can now find the Pot O' Gold (and many other cute files) on SVG Attic in the set called Charmingly Green!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Children's Valentine's Cards with Beth

These cards are for my three boys for Valentine's Day.  The cards are all cut from SVG Attic's My Valentine set.  I stepped out of my comfort zone and went with non-traditional colors for these cards.
The penguin card is for my 7 year old.  He has always love penguins, so I know this will be a hit for him!
I asked my 4 year old what animal he liked best and he said toad, so that is what I went with for him.  I embossed the green paper with a circle embossing folder and used glossy accents on random dots to add visual interest.
Last, but not least, the bee is for my 18 month old.  It totally reminds me of him with the rosy cheeks :)
On all of the cards I used brown chalk to accent the die cuts and added sequins, twine and glossy accents on various parts.

I hope you enjoy these and if you make any projects using SVG Attic files, we would love to see them on out Facebook page!

Door Hanger Valentine Box with Beth

It is so fun when one of my boys takes an interest in making something with me in my craft room!  This is one of those projects.  My four-year-old wanted to make a treat box that he could claim as his own :)  He picked out the paper and some of the embellishments even.  The cutting files for this project are from SVG Attic's Heart Shaped Box collection.  He personally picked what box he wanted to make.
The paper is called Love You More by Imaginisce.  I added a square of acetate behind the heart window.  To embellish it, we chose some mesh ribbon, embroidery floss, a heart button and some pink gems.  I stamped a small sentiment on a hand cut banner.  The edges were all inked with red chalk to add visual interest.

Valentine Purse with Beth

I know this isn't a traditional Valentine treat holder, but I really had a lot of fun making it!  What girl or lady wouldn't LOVE to get this for a treat?  The paper collection I used was My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Record It! Antique.  The purse is made from SVG Attic's Pretty Purses files.
The swirl on the lid is one of the stickers that came with the paper collection.
Here is a picture of the purse opened up.  It has two pockets.  The main one and the small one on the front.
The main pocket has a cellophane bag with Hershey's Caramel Kisses and Hugs in it :)  YUM!  The front pocket is just the right size to hold a gift card.  I decorated the cellophane bag with twine, embroidery floss and a heart button.
Look at that magnolia on the front.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I am totally in love with this flower!  For the center I used my Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tool and some of the patterned paper to make an epoxy embellishment.  I added sequins to the front of the purse as well.
Last but not least, here is the back of the purse.  I used part of the swirl sticker on the back.  The tag is adorned with a banner and heart that are re-sized from the Sweet Shop Party collection.  I tied it to the handle with twine and embroider floss and finished the handle off with a bow of Rumpled Ribbon.

Cute Valentin'es Popcorn box by Jearise

I just love this box because even though I made it for Valentine's Day you could also use it for spring or even Easter. This is an quick and easy project that turns out so cute in the end. If you're in a hurry but want something sweet for Valentine's day than this box is it.

I started out with the set Sweet Shop Party and the popcorn treat box cut at the size it comes in the set. I then used Erin's Scalloped Borders for the handle. I cut the border 10 inches long by one inch wide and finally I used the daisy from the 3D Spring Flowers Set cut at about 2 inches.

This was a quick and fun little box to put together thanks to SVG Attic. I plan on making a few more to give my children's teachers.
