An Angel gets her wings

I was asked to make an Angel card. I asked the customer if she would like a 3D globe with an angel in the middle. She was really excited and even more excited when I asked her if she wanted a matching card.

I knew right away what files I was going to use! SVGATTIC.com have the best 3D files. Even though I am just a guest designer for them and it is not my month to post for them, I had to use these files!

As it so happens, I had their angel, poinsettia, and globe files already on hand!

For the card, I took out the star and added the poinsettia from one of their newest files, JGW Poinsettia Passion.
The globe was really fun to make! The bottom comes off so some goodies, an angel ornament, or a simple note an be left in there for the recipient. The original globe file, JGW Snow Flurries, has a 3D snowman in the middle of the globe.
So I simply took the angel from the card file and downsized it to fit into the globe. I then made three of the same angels and glued them together making her 3D.
The angel and snowflakes are suspended in the air to imitate a true globe.

Ever single piece of glittered cardstock you see was hand glued and glittered! Took about two days just for that portion.

    1. Thank you Beth! I added a little red bell to the bottom of the angel right before I sent it out the door so I didn't get a photo, but it was the last final touch.

  3. This is such a riot of visual fun. So many of our designs combined into something wonderful and new. I think the thing that was so interesting to me was cutting 3 angels and connecting them into a triangular column to free stand on the globe base. Wonderful idea.
