The Post-Christmas-Blues.....

....yup! There is such a thing. I suffer from it BIG time! That creative void or vaccum where you don't know what to make or create. Seems like you been totally busy and now....it's quiet. Totally blank.
I sat down last night - tired from being up way too late New Years Eve and really really lazy. I started going through different projects I could create (I do that sometimes - kinda planning ahead) and there it was!
The cute 3D Snow Globe Box from the JGW Snow Flurries kit (also found here in the Silhouette Design Store) and I decided to make my own version of it ;-)

All I really did was make an octagon-shaped hole in the middle and layer it with some vellum so light can shine through. Then I too one of the snow flakes from the Snow Flake Hanging Card from the SDS Ornament kit (or design #22717 in the Silhouette Design Store) and cut out 4 of them and then glued them side to side to make a 3D snow flake to hang in the middle of the Snow Globe.

Finally I put in a color shifting LED light into the box and voila!

I do think it's fun when imagination runs wild and you can come up with new ways to make things.
Thanks for joining me today - I hope you came into 2018 with happiness and a big bang and I look forward to showing you lots of new projects.

Snow Flurries ahead

Hello all I-team member Sonja here with my latest project. Really the only part of winter I look forward to is when I get to pull my snow globes out! In honor of them, I decided to make this snow globe from the JGW Snow Flurries set with a little extra kick to it at the end.

When I saw the globe, I knew right away that I wanted to do the snowman in vellum. However, vellum can be a little tender to work with if glue is involved. To prevent the vellum from shriveling up, I wanted to use my tape gun to adhere the hands. But then, *light bulb*, hello I have the Xyron Sticker Maker! I use this little handy dandy object for small projects just like this.

I ran the arms through the sticker maker
Before peeling off the top layer, I rubbed around each element with a sharp end of a pencil to eliminate any extra tape.
The final project came out well with some added snowflake embellishments.

The bottom of the globe is a box to add any extra goodies to. However, I wanted to add a different kind of goody to it.
On my Christmas globes, many of them have lights and blowers in them. To replicate that, I added a hole to the top plate of the box.
Then I added a little tea light.

Materials Used:

DCWV Cranberry Christmas stack
SVG Attic JGW Snow Flurries file
Xyron Create a sticker Model 150
Silhouette Cameo 3
Silhouette Studio~Designers Edition
Aleene's Original Tacky Glue
Craftwell eBrush
Gray Sharpie Marker

An Angel gets her wings

I was asked to make an Angel card. I asked the customer if she would like a 3D globe with an angel in the middle. She was really excited and even more excited when I asked her if she wanted a matching card.

I knew right away what files I was going to use! SVGATTIC.com have the best 3D files. Even though I am just a guest designer for them and it is not my month to post for them, I had to use these files!

Ghostly Globe with Lisa

Happy Friday! Lisa here, from the The Crafting Cave,  ready to share another Halloween
project with you. I used the Snowglobe Box from JGW Snow Flurries
Collection and 3D Ghost from SDS Ghostly Graveyard
I think this is a really fun way to give a little Halloween
gift! There's plenty of room in the box to put candy, tea lights, gift cards and more.

I punched a small hole in the back arch to hang the ghost from.

The box holds an 11oz bag of Reese's Mini Peanut Butter Cups perfectly.
Just to give you an idea how big it is. I measured the globe at 8in. tall and about 5.5in wide.

This would be a perfect gift for teachers and/or neighbors.
You can find all the details and supplies list on my blog, The Crafting Cave.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you a weekend filled full of Boo-tiful Crafting!
