Valentine Flower Box and Card

Tracy here from the Idea Closet and today is my turn for another SVG Attic Project.  

Last time I used a Halloween Tote box and turned it into a Valentine Card box, Today I used another Halloween file.

The 10 sided 3D box is the base for the Cat Head.

To turn it into a Valentine box, I omitted the cat head and replaced it with the flower from the 

Pushing Petals Card.

I also made a card to go with the box, using the Rose Trio card from the Pushing Petals collection.

Filled with candy, I think this would make a great gift for just about anyone.

Valentine Tote Box

Valentine's can be an exciting time for anyone, no matter their age.

Tracy from Idea Closet and today is my turn at the SVG Attic blog.  I thought it would be fun to make a Valentine's box for holding all your Valentine treasures.

For my project I used the Large Decorated Tote Gable Box.

This box was originally designed for Halloween and used Graphic 45 paper, however, I changed it up a bit and used paper from Photo Play to make a perfect Valentine's day box.

There is so much fun happening with this tote.

 

My favorite part of the box is the big 3D bow!

For the front of the box, I added a journal block, a tag with stickers from the collection and a bottle pop embellishment with paper from the kit; all tied with matching red twine.

To finish the box; on the back side I cut out a slot for cards to fit in.

Now it can be used at school or  home as a "mail box".

The Large Tote could be used in so many ways besides just Halloween!

Unicorn Card Box and Favor

Hello everyone, we have made it half way through the week.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet.

I always look forward to Wednesday because not only is the weekend a little closer, but it is my turn to post on the SVG Attic blog, and today I have a special treat.

If you love Unicorns you will want to make these.

The first project is the Unicorn Candy Cup Place Card.

This little treat holds a filled 2.5 oz plastic cup and is great for any party.

When I thought of  these projects, I was envisioning lots of glitter so I might have gone a little overboard.  

Try Doodlebugs Sugar Coating glitter.  

It is very fine and so pretty. 

The second project is the Unicorn Rainbow 3D Box Card.  I loved this the minute I saw it.

The box works out pretty big at  3.5 x 3.5 x 7. 

There is lots of detail on the box card.

I embossed the clouds with my Big Shot and then added them to the sides with foam pop dots.

Replace the name tag with the Be Unique label, it fits perfectly and your digital cutter can cut the letters that small.

You can't really tell from the picture but I used tons of glitter on the rainbow, sun and parts of the unicorn.

I am really pleased with how this turned out and I hope you will give them a try.

Welcome Baby Cooper!

Hello all and happy Saturday!  While many people are waiting for Christmas and the birth of Jesus, the SVG Attic family is celebrating the birth of a different baby boy today!  Mike and Kenzie, the owners of SVG Attic, are the proud parents of baby Cooper, who was born earlier this month.  The I-Team wanted to create some special projects just for him.

Four Drawer Box with Tracy

Tracy with the Idea Closet and I am loving all of these boxes on SVG Attic.

Today for my blog post I made the 4 drawer box from the JGW Bloom collection.

The four drawers are perfect for holding jewelry, craft supplies, treats or any number of small gifts.

This box has so many possibility.

The paper is from Tim Holtz, and I love the beautiful colors.

To finish the box, I added gold brads to the drawer pulls and four stained wooden knobs as feet. 

I am so very happy with how this box turned out.

Design Your Own Travel Case

With summer slowing down and the kids heading back to school, now is a perfect time to go through all those photos,  keepsakes, post cards, tags and memorabilia from you travels.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet. I love to scrapbook my photos in either mini albums or digital albums but what to do with all those keepsakes that you collected?  How about a Travel Case?

SVG Attic has the perfect solution.

The JGW Fashionably French collection has this adorable Round Travel Case.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite files and I have made this project many, many times.  I love how versatile it is. You can change the theme of your case just by changing the colors and paper you use.

For this case I used paper from Authenique and went with a more 70's look.
In fact when I was working on it, I was reminded of my parents old station wagon with the wood grain sides (did I just age myself?)

The file comes with lots of extras but because the paper I used was so busy I decided to omit most of them and keep it very simple.
I also deleted of all the little brad holes around the lid too, just because I really liked the look of the wood grain paper.

I used the tag but created my own little route 66 sign to add to it.




Another fun part of this design is the feet!

Tropical Box Card

Summer is in full force now and it is a little toasty. 

I can't help but think of warm, sunny beaches, flip flops and the sand.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet and today I created this fun, bright box card.

I love this card.  It can be found in the  JGW Tropical Haven Collection at SVG Attic.

One of the things I love about this card is it includes some of my favorite summer items.
The other thing I love about it, is the bright colors;



but my favorite part about this card, and all box cards, are they fold up so nice and are perfect for mailing.  Even with all the foam pop dots I used!

Sunflower Box with Tracy

When you think of summer, what do you think of?

Do you think of warm days, the sun shinning and a garden full of beautiful, hardy flowers?

I do!

Tracy, with the Idea closet and after all the rain (and mud) we have had lately, I am ready for some beautiful sun!

SVG Attic has a new kit that is perfect for all of you sun loving people, waiting for summer.

JGW Sunflower Sunshine is the most recent set that was just added to the store.
This collection features beautiful sunflowers on cards, boxes and even a little stand.

For my project today, I choose to create the Hex Sunflower Box.



This is such a beautiful box with so many details, but it is easy to do as well.
The box measures almost 6" across and 2" tall, just the right size for gift giving; or use it to hold a special keepsake or two. The possibilities are endless, but you will never get tired of looking at it.



The flower looks complicated but if you follow Jody's instructions here, it actually goes together easily.

Grab some of your favorite paper (I used We R Memory Keepers) and create your own Sunflower Hex box. You will love yours as much as I love mine...Promise!

Creativity Box

I have had this stack of Tim Holtz things stored under my desk since January. I knew the general idea of what I wanted to do, but then again I didn't know what I was going to do with it. When I finally took the time to read each inscription on these little medal plates, I knew for sure what I needed to do with it!

I have a lot of little things in a basket that I use occasionally for crafting. So to bring a bit more organization as well as elegance to storing the little things, I decided to make a storage box using SVG Attic's 'Cookie's for Santa' file to make this project.

I had to modify the file slightly to achieve what I wanted.

Original file: 

For the lid of the box, I wanted the top to be a solid surface. So I simply right clicked on the top of the lid, selected 'release compound', and discarded the items from the file I didn't want to use.

Modified file: 

Once modified and cut out, I was able to put each piece together.

 But once I added all of the Tim Holtz bling, wow!

 The gold glitter paper I used from Cut Card Stock was the icing on the cake.

 The gold paired well with the elegance and old fashioned paper

 I chose this file because I liked that I can take the inside compartments out one at a time for when I am using that element.

The finished results came out well.
