Christmas Time

Hello - Helle from www.mycreativehideout.com has seized control of the blog this fine 3. Sunday in Advent.

I want to show you what I've been up to this past week. It involves these:

I fell in love with them instantly and knew exactly what I wanted to used them for.

Christmas Tags for this years presents!

I used the Tag Thanks Latte and stripped away everything but the scalloped base and the inside circle.

I didn't feel like making a very detailed tag because I felt the dome, the glitter and the small image inside the dome was details enough.

I used DCWV "Christmas Plaid" paper and Tim Holtz Ideaology Gold Kraft-Stock for the tag.

Inside the dome is a print and cut motive of pinecones with branches from Carta Bella's "Let it Snow" collection along with Diamond Sugar Dust from Craft Décor.

I embossed and sanded the gold paper for effect and used gold twine to tie it unto the presents.

And I didn't stop here…..

I was on a roll with these domes and decided to use them for this years place cards for the Christmas Table:

The place cards are the JGW Snowflake Placecards.

They are made from Kraft Cardstock, Ideaology Gold Paper, white pearl paper and Best Creation White Glitter Paper.

Inside the dome is a print and cut from Carta Bella's "Christmas Delivery" collection and Diamond Sugar Dust from Craft Décor. I also wrote "Merry Christmas" in Danish.

Instead of using a candy inside the tag, I used snowflake printed vellum to write the names and decorated with a border of a snowflake circle (design ID #34350) I found in the Silhouette Design Store.

Then, for a fun detail, I placed a small led light inside the tag:

It's a bit hard to see in the picture, but it really lights up the name nicely.

As a final detail, I tied some gold tinsel on top of the place card.

And there….I'm all set for Christmas now.

Thanks for joining me today. I'm back again next Sunday for a final Christmas project.

Christmas Wishes with Lisa

Happy Friday, everyone! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper taking over the blog today. Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I still needed gift tags?

The gift tag is from the JGW Just Sew Collection - Easel A7 Tag.
I love this tag because the recipient can display it so easily. The trick for this tag is one 12 x 12 piece of double-sided patterned paper. I used Photoplay's Mad About Plaid paper.

The poinsettias are from the JGW Poinsettia Passion Collection - Poinsettia Doily Framed Card. To create them I used PhotoPlay's Mad About Plaid and resized two of them in smaller sizes.  Once I had them cut out I simply added Distress Oxide Ink in Candied Apple and Fired Brick on the petals.  Using an Embossing Ink Dauber and Gold Embossing Powder I added texture to the largest flower. It really popped those flowers off the tag.  I used the same green Mad About Plaid paper to cut the leaves and greenery. I flipped the pattern on the leaves, every other leaf.

As always, thanks for joining us today!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas Cards made with Tags

It happens every year.
No matter how organized I think I am, there is another gift to buy, another party to go to or another
 co-worker  gift to get.

Tracy from the Idea Closet and today I am sharing two cards I made using files from SVG Attic.

The poinsettia ornament card is a great way to use up some of those scrap papers you have from past projects.
For the middle of the poinsettia I used a pearl epoxy sticker.
Use some of your twine to tie the ornament to the front of the card.
The recipient can use the ornament for a tag (if they want to take the card apart.)

The Gingerbread Cookie card is made the same way.
Use foam pop dots to add lots of dimension.

There are 12 little tags in this collection.  Think of all the fun cards you can make!

Sunflower Card and Print and Cut with Tracy

Sunflowers are a sure sign of Fall and right now I am seeing so many projects with them I decided I had to do a couple myself.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet and
for today's project , I decided to do the Sunflower Easel Card.
The file comes from the JGW Sunflower Sunshine Collection
.JGW Sunflower Sunshine

I also wanted to try something different with the files ...

... So next I created a print and cut tag using one of the flowers from the easel card and the tag and words from the sunflower gift card.
It wasn't hard to do if you know how to set up Print then Cut in your machine's software.

So many fun things can happen when you combine and play around with files.

Mother's Day Card and Tag

Tracy from the Idea closet here again.  Today is my turn to share on SVG Attic's Blog and with Mother's Day this week, I thought it would be a good time to make a card from my new favorite kit from SVG Attic and Jodi.
The only problem was I couldn't decide which one I wanted to make so I made two!

I had some paper from My Minds Eye that was waiting for the perfect project and these cards were definitely it.

I love the little bits of gold in the paper and decided to use it as one of my main colors.

To make the tag I  used a rounded 3x4 journal card from the paper collection.
Next I drew a small mat for the card by drawing a rounded rectangle and sizing it to 3.125"x4.125" and cut it from a metallic gold card stock.
Add brads from the collection and finish it off with a big gold ribbon.
Because the journal card runs horizontal, I turned the tag to the side as well.

I can't wait to add this to a gift!

The Mother's Day step card has lots of pretty layers.
The file comes with a print and cut option for the words in the tag and lots of extra pieces as well.

To create the word Hello and the ribbon pieces on the side. cut them from Cricut's Gold Foil Vinyl.
Add more brads from the paper collection and you will have a beautiful card.

If you haven't had a chance, check out the Mother's Moments Kit from Jodi at SVG Attic.
I love everything about it and think I am going to make the Secretary box next!

A Gift Giving Gift with Lisa

Hi and welcome, everyone! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing a fun gift idea, a gift giving gift. Using the desk organizer from the SVG Attic G is for Gratitude Set I created this organizer for gift bags, tags, pens, ribbon, scissors, and tape.  This organizer would make a fun gift wrapped up in cellophane and tied with a bow.  I will be sharing another fun idea using this organizer soon, so stay tuned!

At first glance, this organizer seems a little intimidating. Don't let it scare you! Allow yourself plenty of time to assemble, making sure everything is squared, edges are nice and crisp, and I can't stress enough that a heavy cardstock is a must to achieve the best results possible. Make sure to take a peek at the Video Tutorial before you start assembling and things will fall right into place. I had extra space on my matted paper to cut tags out from the newly released JGW Just Sew Collection.

The patterned paper is DCWV Watercolor Stack.
I've added this tip before but I feel like it needs to be said again.....Binder Clips are a paper crafters
best friend!
You can find more details and a supply list on my blog, The Relativity of Paper.
As always, thanks for joining us and we hope you have a fantastic weekend
