Fairy Dust Lantern ~ with Cyndy G

Good morning and happy Friday.  Today I am sharing a project from SVG Attic.  I created a fairy house using the 3d Hanging Lantern and Graphic 45 - Fairy Dust.

I love the way the lantern went together.  Everything fits together very tightly especially the top.  Take your time and work the top piece in carefully or you will crush it.  The lantern is small, only 3x3 square and about 7.5 inches tall including the ring on top. I changed the window cutouts so you could see the inside of the lantern better.  I used the Circle grille on all four panel windows and cut out the center to open it up.

I used small paper roses, daisy and mushrooms in the center to place my fairy on.  I inserted the wires from the flowers through the tiny hole in the center of the bottom piece and twisted them together underneath.  Then I built up some mushrooms I had cut out of the Fairy Dust paper using foam tape and glued them behind the center cluster of flowers and mushrooms.

Good morning.  Today I am sharing a project from SVG Attic.  I used the 3D Garden Spade and made home decor piece.

I fussy cut vegetables out of Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home Collection and added them to the garden spade.  I also used a title from Authenique Paper Homestead Collection.

I used Mod Podge on each individual piece to help protect the paper from tearing and inked all the edges.  Then I used foam tape to add dimension between the vegetables.  The finished project can be hung by the hole in the handle or displayed on an easel.  Thank you for stopping by today.

Mothers Day in the Garden

Hello, happy Sunday and happy Mother's Day.

There wasn't a shadow of a doubt about what I wanted to show you today as it is Mother's Day. The only thing that teased me, was what to choose as SVGAttic and SnapDragon Snippets has so many wonderful Mother's Day files to choose from.

Not that my own Mother doesn't enjoy the garden, she just has lots of other hobbies but I know a lot of Mothers out there thrive in the green and loves to get dirt under their nails, so I went with a garden theme.

And this is what I came up with:

First of is the 3D Garden Hat that I made from AC Cardstock in Brown Sugar and Straw along with patterned paper from Graphic 45's "Botanical Tea" collection and two small silver colored eyelets.

I also decorated it with some Prima flowers from my stash in coordinating colors and a butterfly also from Prima.

This hat is very easy to make so it's perfect for everybody both beginner paper crafters and the more advanced.

Next is the 3D Garden Spade:

This one is also very easy to make and it's so realistic I fear somebody's going to bring it into the garden for shoveling.

I used AC Cardstock in Vanilla and Bazzill Bling Cardstock in Tungsten along with patterned paper from Graphic 45's "Botanical Tea" collection.

I also tied some pink twine on the handle.

Then I made a flower in a pot:

This is a somewhat fantasy kind of a flower inspired by Hydrangeas.

For the flower itself I used ½ styrofoam ball on which I pinned several small flowers from the Flower Five Petal Leaf Cluster cut out in Graphic 45 patterned paper (Botanical Tea) As flower center I added small sequins.

The ball is then glued or pop-dotted onto a large flower from the SDS 3D Cake Box Kit (without the candle) cut in AC Cardstock in Bubblegum. Then I cut out some leaves from the Flower Five Petal Leaf Cluster in Cricket AC Cardstock and glued them underneath the flower and placed it onto the pot.

The Flower Ball Topiary 3D Pot is made from Vanilla AC Cardstock and decorated with "Botanical Tea" paper. For filler I used some Spanish Moss. Isn't it cute?

This project is for the bit more advanced crafters but I really encourage everyone to try it.

Last but not least I made the adorable Tea Cup 3D Container also from SnapDragon Snippets:

The cup is cut from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated with Graphic 45 patterned paper "Botanical Tea". The Tea Bag Tag is the small in the set and is cut from Graphic 45's paper and decorated with a small chipboard tag from Graphic 45's "Time to Flourish" collection and tied onto the cup with a length of scrap floss. Finally I added a Prima butterfly and filled the cup with sweets (chocolate covered roasted almonds)

This cup is rather large so if you're not into spending a fortune on candy (like I did), you can fill some tissue paper into the cup first for filler.

Repurposing Easter Files with Lisa

Hi, everyone and welcome! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing a few ideas on how to use those Easter files throughout the Summer. Using Easter Elements and JGW Happy Easter (carrot) I created three simple cards that would be ideal for someone who loves to garden. 

So using the carrot from the JGW Happy Easter - Upright Bunny Box I created this fun carrot themed card. The sentiment reads I CARROT believe I forgot, perfect for belated birthdays. 

Using the tulip from the Easter Elements, I cut Canson XL Watercolor paper and inked with Distress Inks adding a sentiment that can be used for several occasions. 

Using the Peeps Bunny from the Easter Elements it's easy to create various bunny themed cards, the sentiment reads, There's no bunny like you. There are also several "peep" sentiments that can be used throughout the year, too.

Garden Goddess ~ with Cyndy

It seems like just a few weeks ago summer was starting and now kids are starting to go back to school.  Don't forget tomorrow is the SVG Attic and 3 Girl JAM Back to School Blog Hop.  There will be plenty of inspiration for your Back to School projects and prizes!

For my project today I decided to make the Garden Goddess Canister from the JGW Summer Canister kit.

I used Graphic 45, Home Sweet Home papers.  They fit this project perfectly.

I substituted the flower pot that comes with the file with the seed packets 

from one of the sheets of Graphic 45 paper.

She has a sweet face.  I added a touch of chalk to give her rosy cheeks.

I really like her little garden hat.  I added some ribbon I received from 

3 Girl Jam.  I love the crinkle ribbon, it is very light and easy to use.
