The Year's Last, Loveliest Smile

Hello and Happy Autumn Sunday

Now that Halloween is over, I can start to concentrate on other projects and feeling that I've neglected Fall a bit, I've decided to make a few more projects with the lush and wonderful colors.

First of I made the Barn 3D Model:

I downsized it by 50% to match some of my other mini houses and left the roof unglued so I'm able to change the small LED candle inside.

It is made from AC Cardstock in Chestnut and Cranberry along with Bazzill Bling Cardstock in a light grey.

I also used some vellum behind the doors and windows and decorated with Prima flowers and different pearls and gems from my stash.

A totally adorable little fall barn and VERY easy to make - even this small.

I also made the Autumn Bouquet Card from the JGW Enchanted Autumn kit:

I used AC Cardstock in Chocolate, Vanilla, Mustard, Rouge, Cranberry, Coffee, Plum, Abricot, Rust and Banana along with Bazzill Swiss Dot Cardstock in light yellow and patterned paper from Recollections' "Autumn Dream"

I inked all the edges with Distress Ink in matching colors and used two screw-like brads to hold the tag

The sentiment I found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #23118 by Rivka Wilkins and used the Print and Cut function for it.

I really think what it says it true; Autumn really is the years last, loveliest smile

Thanks for joining me today - hope to see you again soon.

Pilgrim Hat Centerpiece ~ with Cyndy G

Hello, today I'm bringing you a project from SVG Attic.  I made the Pilgrim Hat from SDS Pilgrims Prayer.  I think this is going to make a beautiful centerpiece on my Thanksgiving table.  The hat is so easy to put together and it comes with all the embellishments you need.  I did add a burlap flower to my hat.

There are so many possibilities with this hat.  Make it as fancy or plain as you like.  Do you have a child doing a Thanksgiving play and need to make a hat, this would be perfect.  Thank you for stopping by today.

Sam the Scarecrow

Now that Halloween is over, this means one thing for the Inland Northwest. Snow. Nope. No. Naughta. NOT ready for the white stuff! We've lucked out and have only seen it once in our elevation so far! While trying to desperately hold onto all of the lovely colors of fall, I felt Sam needed to be assembled from the JGW Sam the Scarecrow file.

For my Sam, I downsized him just a smidge to maximize the usage of the papers I chose.
The only thing I changed on the crow was I added googly eyes rather than paper ones just to make it fun.
I added hay to all the places I imagine hay would stick out on a scarecrow.

Believe it or not all leaves were picked up off the lawn last weekend. Then the wind came and blew the tree bare. Which is perfect for my photo op, not so much for the husband who has to get them all picked up before the pending snow storm this weekend.
I just liked the sparkle on his nose in this one!
Sam is a happy scarecrow in his element.

Harvest Time

The colors, the smells, the chill in the air it all means one thing, harvest time! Hello SVG Attic fanatics! Guest Designer Sonja with Sugar Bean Cards here. I am honored to be a guest designer for such a great organization. I had a lot of fun making this project presented to you today!

Pumpkins, apples, corn, leaves, family gatherings are all the great things to remember what holidays are for! For this project, I used several files to compile one large autumn scene.

Giving thanks is a big association to this time of year! I felt the 'Give Thanks' pilgrims from the Harvest Blessing files was perfect!

This pilgrim hat from SDS Pilgrims Prayer is one to fall (no pun intended) in love with!

A box card full of apples in a barrel from the Harvest Wishes kit is a perfect reminder to get working on those apple pies!

Files used:
JGW Harvest Blessing: Pilgrims
SDS Harvest Feast: Acorns
SDS Pilgrims Prayer: Pilgrim hat
Harvest Wishes: Autumn Barrel Card
JGW Turkey Trot: Medium Acorn on a stick
Silhouette Design store for the following (under Snapdragon Snippets):
3D Bushel
3D Pumpkins
3D Apples

Enjoy your fall and family all and thank you for stopping by!

Nuts for Acorns with Lisa

Happy Friday and welcome, welcome! Lisa, from The Crafting Cave, with you today and I'm sharing my love of acorns! Yes, I love acorns. They are great reminders of my childhood, you can read about it on my blog. Acorns also make gorgeous Fall Decor. So how awesome to see this great 3D Acorn Box at SVG Attic. I resized the file to make the acorns large to sit around my house. From top to bottom they are 8 inches in height and about 6 inches in width at the widest points.

I had several sheets of Pink Paislee {Mist}ables in my stash and I thought it was time to use them.
I used Distress Ink to add some color on the leaves and shell. I think the green really gave it the pop I was looking for. The glitter paper is Best Creations and Martha Stewart. The crinkle ribbon is by 3GirlJam. All my supplies are signs of being a hoarder, oldies.
Always remember when resizing your files to keep all the elements grouped together, resize to desired size and then ungroup if necessary. Otherwise, all the elements of your project won't fit together properly.
These Acorns do not stand on their own. I propped them up against
each other.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great crafty weekend!

SVG Attic is having a Guest Design Team call!  Stop by THIS blog post for all the details.  The deadline to apply is September 15th.

Fall Table Center Piece

I hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather.  I know in some part of the country winter has already arrived, but here in El Paso, Texas, we are still having very nice days, a little bit of rain, and awesome sunsets.

For this post, I created a fall center piece using Canning Essentials Svg Kit.  I got the inspiration from a project by Tammy Tutterow, but instead of using real glass, I used overhead transparencies.  The paper I used was from the Paper Company.  It was a gold embossed cardstock.  To make the tall jar look vintage, I applied alcohol inks in Ginger, Caramel, and Butterscotch plus Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint to the transparency.  I added an electronic candle in the middle and dried vegetables to make it sturdy.  The addition of the light makes the "glass" glittery!

I cut out the leaves and acorns from the Harvest Blessings Card Kit.  To the ribbon I added the same colors but with the Distress Stains to match the colors on the glass.  I used fall colors of Distress Paints on the Leaves.  These are from the Fall Ensemble Kit.  The other leaves I die cut with three different Provo Craft dies.  I also added two push pins, a peacock feather and small white pearls.  The branches are also a Tim Holtz die cut.

The other two jars were made with transparencies and regular cardstock, one in brown and the other in a rust color.  I cut out the decorative toppers from fabric "cardstock" I had in my stash and natural twine.

So there you have it, a fall center piece to enjoy over and over again throughout the years.

Happy crafting!
