Leo the Leprechaun

Hello everyone! I-team member Sonja here with a fun little project. While at parent teacher conferences for my daughter, her preschool teacher asked me if I was willing to come up with a treasure hunt game for St. Patrick's day. I of course agreed to come up with something.

That something though was the question of the day! What can I do for a preschool class since they cannot read. It needs to be something they can do as well as quickly to keep them engaged. After looking through all of SVG Attic's files, I decided to go with the 'Go Green' svg set.
Go Green
I happened to have an empty foam reader board lying around. It quickly came to me. I decided to have the children do a color treasure hunt game. Find all the colors of the rainbow to help Leo, the Leprechaun, find his pot of gold!

Leo is the perfect file for this as he looks like he is waving to the kids. They loved him!

I added some of the coins from this file to the pot of gold to give it a bit more texture and depth.

I decided since Leo gets his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, it would only be appropriate for the children to get their own little pots of gold after finding all the colors of the rainbow.
I ended up making 16 little pots of gold.  I simply took the pot of gold from this file, made a box, and sandwiched the two cut outs on each side of the box.
Before I glued the pots together, I ran them through my Big Shot to emboss them. Make them a little bit more fun for the kids!

New to SVG Attic?  Check out these awesome places!
