Sewing Kit ~ with Courtney

My project today was so fun to make.  I had this idea in my head and really wanted to make it work.  I used quite a few files to accomplish the end result.

A sewing kit.  

For the notions box, I used the race track gift box from Day at the Races just leaving off the fencing.  I really wanted a handle so I just wrapped the paper around the wooden spools I bought at the local craft store and hot glued them on.  I glued ric rac to the top as well.  I love how it turned out.

For the thimble,  I used the Apple Core Gift Box from G is for Gratitude.  I did cut the bottom out twice and used it on the top to close it off.  

For the 3 button boxes, I used the Sweet Peppermint Candy Gift Box from Stocking Stuff and Button Design ID #25488 from Silhouette Online Store by SnapDragon Snippets for the tops.

Who is that lady? -With Melissa- I-Team

I really like the Day at the Races kit and especially the silhouette lady on the bag.  But  I thought it would be nice to use her as card too!  I am loving the way it turned out.  

I made the back and front of the bag at 50% size.  I scored the front along the edge and back of her hairline to glue the front and back together, making it easy to open too.  Because of the smaller size, I was able to give the hat some texture in my cuttlebug. Overall I am very pleased with how the project turned out.  I have left the inside blank with no sentiment as I haven't decided if it should be a birthday card for a special lady, or it could be used as a thank you card as well!  It also would make a lovely Mother's Day card... oh the possibilities!

Peony Gift Bag with Beth

This is Beth from Beth's Beauties, and today I am sharing this beautiful gift bag that I made using files from SVG Attic.  

 The bag itself is made using the Motherly Moments set, I just omitted the front window from the SVG before cutting it so I had a solid front on the bag.  The peony is from Day At The Races and I admit that every time I make this flower, I am amazed.  It is so gorgeous!  For the leaves, I used the greenery from the box in the G is for Gratitude set.  I inked the edges of the petals and leaves with brown chalk ink to define them.

 I added metallic sequins for a little bit of bling and finished it all off with a sentiment tag and tied that to the bag with some twine!

This gift bag fit a necklace gift box inside just perfectly.

Ribbon Father's Day Card with Beth

Hi everyone!  This is Beth from Beth's Beauties.  With tomorrow being Father's Day, I decided to make one last card for the occasion.  This one is for my boys to give to my husband!  My oldest son picked out the design he wanted me to cut out :)

The SVG files for this card are from the Day At The Races collection at SVG Attic.

It was simple and straight forward to cut out and assemble.  In fact, it took longer to pick out the papers we wanted to use.  I decided on the Industrial Chic stack by DCWV which has a great vintage feel to it.

Instead of the horse head that was with this card file, I added a "#1" to make it work for Father's Day.

I fussy cut a tag out of the paper stack and used brown ribbon to fasten it to the card.  The final touch was using my round 14 Epiphany Crafts shape tool and more of the DCWV designer paper to create the dad epoxy circles.
