Mr. Snowman ~ with Cyndy G

Good morning and happy Friday.  Cyndy here bringing you a project from SVG Attic.  I decided to make the Snowman 3D Ensemble.  Christmas may be over but as a lot of us know winter is still here!  Here in southern NC we don't see a lot of snow and when we do get snow it comes with a big dose of ice.  As we approach the weekend we are waiting once again for an ice storm so I thought this little snowman would make a good plea for snow :)

I think he is just adorable and he really wasn't hard to put together.  This is a project that could be completed in a day.

Doesn't he have the cutest face.  I just love his crooked smile.  The kit does come with a bow but I decided I wanted to use some ribbon I had on hand.  I thought it fit him perfect.  Thank you for stopping by.

Celebrate Winter Birthdays

Tracy here from Idea Closet. I hope you had a very nice Christmas and a great start to the new year.

I don't like winter ,and I really don't like the cold, but January and February are full of birthdays at our house so we still have lots of celebrating to do.

To get started on the birthday card list, I made two winter cards to help celebrate.

The first card is the Sled 3D Gift Card Holder and is part of the JGW Made of Snow Collection
I love this card and it is super easy to put together.
On the underside of the sled is an envelope to hold a gift card.
Makes a great gift, big or small for someone special.
I used wood printed paper for the top of the sled and then tied red twine to the steering bar.

Next is the Snowman Box Card.
I love box cards because they can be folded flat for mailing and then displayed on a desk or shelf.
I cut the arms and the roof to the house from the same wood printed paper.
To add a little interest to the Snowman I added glitter to the bottom of each panel.
I also chalked up the cheeks a little bit.
To finish my little snowman, I tied a scarf around his neck using the same red twine.

Both cards together would make a great little gift or use them separately.

Thank you for joining me today and stay warm.

Shaped Snowman Card with Beth

Good morning to all my crafty friends!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here today.  I have some thank you cards to send out after the holiday season, so this is one of those cards that I will be mailing.  The card file is from SVG Attic's Winter Illuminations kit.
This card was very easy to assemble!  I opted to use the front panel without the stitching holes.  I used patterned papers from DCWV's Blue Noel stack and a ribbon for the scarf.  Adhesives used include Scotch Tacky Glue and Glue Dots Glue Lines (for the ribbon).  I also stamped a sentiment from APB Let It Snow stamp set in black in the lower left corner.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Candle Heart Cutout ~ with Cyndy G

Hello Cyndy from Cyndy G Time Made For Me.  Today I am sharing a project from SVG Attic.  The Candle Heart Cutout 3D Boxes.  These boxes are so cute and not too hard to put together.  Instead of doing mine in the Valentine theme I used winter paper.

I also added the slice form snow flake from the SDS Ornament Kit.  The snowflake is 2" tall.  Since I made it so small I only cut three snowflakes for the center.

I used a forth snowflake as an accent on the tall candle and tied some Chocolate Sprinkles Trendy Bakers Twine around the candles.  The lights are just the short tea lights or if you have them you could use a tea light that has the look of a melted candle.

Snowflake Warm Hearts Card with Beth

Good Monday Morning!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today to share this wintery card.
I created it using the Snowflake Cutaway Two-Fold A7 card from SnapDragon Snippets.  It is also part of SVG Attic's amazing JGW Snowflake Stars kit.  It was a very straight forward card to assemble.  The papers I used were from Craft Smith's Ice Crystals stack and DCWV's Glitzy Glitter stack.  I tied the card shut with Totally White Trendy Twine.
The sentiment was cut with dark brown vinyl.  I love cutting sentiments out of vinyl because it always cuts flawlessly and the adhesive is already on the back!  Since transfer tape is used, no worries about spacing either :)
Here is a look at the card all opened up.  I embellished the snowflake with White Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Adhesives used include ATG and Lineco Adhesive in a precision tip bottle.  More details can be found on my blog.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Think inside the box

Recently I had a conversation with another team member saying I needed to think outside the box. Well, I got to thinking, what about the inside of the box?!

Hello all, I-team member Sonja here with a winter shadowbox I made using the JGW Build a Box file for my base box.
JGW Build a Box
This set has three options of boxes. I decided I wanted to be able to poke some holes in the back to make a winter scene inside my box so I used the box with the open face.
To start with, I needed to get some detailing done on my extra pieces. For this, I grabbed my Craftwell eBrush and got to work.
It can also be used on glitter paper.

Then I just pulled everything together.
There are 10 little lights in the background
I added the little sleigh from the CG Nutcracker Dream set.

I left the top flap unsecured so that if the sleigh moved around, it could be adjusted.

Winter Fun

Hello! If you're anything like me, you can't wait for the white gold to start falling and for Jack Frost to make nature sparkle and glitter. Winter is definitely my favorite season (that is when it behaves the way it should and not the foggy, rainy, warm winter) so that is what it's all about today.

I just couldn't help myself to make the cute Igloo from the SDS Frosty Friends kit

It is made out of AC Cardstock in White and Blueberry and decorated with Sparkle Paper in White and Maja Design Paper "Joyous Winterdays". Just follow the instructions found here and you'll be all set - easy peasy!

I also wanted the Igloo to look inhabited, so I made a small sled for the owner.

The sled is from the JGW Made of Snow kit. It's made of AC Cardstock in Chocolate, Slate and Black along with some wood patterned paper from KaiserKraft. I used a tiny black brad for the steering pad and some twine. The small rivets are made from small dots of Enamel Accent from Tim Holtz. I did size this one down to match the size of the Igloo. You find the tutorial for the sled here.

The owner is also keen on skis, so I made him a pair from the JGW Winter Wonderland Wreath

These skis are made a bit bigger to match the size of the Igloo and sled and are made from AC Cardstock in Chocolate and Charcoal and with patterned paper from KaiserKraft. These are soooo easy to make and you find the tutorial here.

At night the igloo lights up with a cozy light ;-)

So now the small but lucky owner of the Igloo is ready for the upcoming frosty season and I look forward to many more cool and glittery projects in my warm and cozy craft room :-)

Thanks for visiting today - please leave a small comment on your way out <3

Oh and enjoy this small video

Winter Fun

I-team Sonja here. There are so many great winter activities, that I decided to display them all for January.
I used several SVG Attic files to create this project listed below under Materials Used
I really wanted an old style sled. I decided to put a couple of SVG Attic files together and create my own sled!

You can't have winter fun without snow! This new snowflake is gorgeous with the glitter paper.
I like to watch hockey, ice skate not so much (getting too old for falling on ice), same goes for skiing, but building a snowman is still fun!

A dab of fake glitter snow against the sparkling paper makes it all pop!
The lights make this set serene when lit up at night!

This concludes my take on winter and I hope to not see anymore snow for a long time!

A new year and a lot of snow

Hello all. I-team Sonja here with a lamp post made from the SVG Winter Wishes file.

On New Years Eve, my husband and I were sitting in the dark, on the couch watching it snow. We have a lamp post in our front yard and watching the snow fall down onto it gave me the inspiration to do this project.

Now our post in our front yard is no where near this fancy, but this was a fun project to do.
Here in the Inland Northwest, we are under a massive blanket of snow! It just keeps coming and coming! So I had to add some faux snow to my lamp.

On the base I added some strips to make it more 3D as well as embossed the pieces. It's hard to see in the photos though.

And my favorite part, pop a tea light candle in the top, turn off the shadow box lights and watch it come to life!
I almost didn't make it to the photo stage of this project. My 4-year-old really wanted that tea light candle and got up on my desk and grabbed out of the lamp. I found the lamp over here, the lid over there, and the light shining bright. Luckily I was able to fix any damage quickly!
