Design Your Own Travel Case

With summer slowing down and the kids heading back to school, now is a perfect time to go through all those photos,  keepsakes, post cards, tags and memorabilia from you travels.

Tracy here from the Idea Closet. I love to scrapbook my photos in either mini albums or digital albums but what to do with all those keepsakes that you collected?  How about a Travel Case?

SVG Attic has the perfect solution.

JGW Fashionably French

The JGW Fashionably French collection has this adorable Round Travel Case.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite files and I have made this project many, many times.  I love how versatile it is. You can change the theme of your case just by changing the colors and paper you use.

For this case I used paper from Authenique and went with a more 70's look.
In fact when I was working on it, I was reminded of my parents old station wagon with the wood grain sides (did I just age myself?)

The file comes with lots of extras but because the paper I used was so busy I decided to omit most of them and keep it very simple.
I also deleted of all the little brad holes around the lid too, just because I really liked the look of the wood grain paper.

I used the tag but created my own little route 66 sign to add to it.

Another fun part of this design is the feet!

If you decide you want to make this case Jodi has very detailed, step by step instructions here.

Here is one more look at the front.
I hope you will give this project a try.

High Heeled Birthday with Beth

Hello all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here.  Today I am sharing a 40th birthday card.
This started out with the shaped princess slipper ribbon card from JGW Off To The Ball, but since I wanted to have a larger card, I didn't use the layer to make the shaped card base.  I simply glued it to a 5x7 card base.  The papers I used are from DCWV's All Dressed Up, Glitzy Glitter, and Metallic stacks.  The ribbon is crinkled seam binding.
I used the nested scalloped circle cuts from SDS Fun In The Sun and added a 40 in my cutting software to the top circle.  Those layers were popped up with foam tape.
Here is a look at the set that I used:
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Witchie Woman ~ with Cyndy G

Hello crafty friends.  Today I am sharing a project from SVG Attic - JGW 3D Witch.  This project takes a some time a patience to put together but the finished project is well worth the effort!

Isn't she adorable.  Her skirt panels are stitched together with some embroidery floss.  The paper is some K&Company that I had and the accent panels are Graphic 45, Halloween in Wonderland.

Her hair is made out of Trendy Twine - Limeade.  I made her hair according to the directions except I used Mod Podge instead of starch and I loosened the curls.  To make her bangs I ran three strands of twine across the front of the hat.  I glued the hair around the inside edge of the hat rather than her head then attached the hat.

I added a bat to the center of her bow.  I also decided to not add the wings to my witch.

Thank you for stopping by.

If you can read this...

BRING COFFEE! Coffee, coffee, coffee. How else is there a way to start a day?! Recently I requested a coffee file for one particular project in mind. However Kenzie went above and beyond creating a whole new SDS Coffee Break set so I had to do more than just the vinyl project I had in mind.
SDS Coffee Break
Now, there is nothing better than grabbing a coffee and a good book to get lost from the world! Recently my husband let me borrow his tablet with the Kindle app installed, good luck getting it back sweetheart!
I have wanted to put this vinyl saying on the back of it for awhile now to show case my three obsessions in life, reading, coffee, and crafting.
The vinyl I used has a few different things that takes it to the next level. For example, the pink is glittery.
The gray for the cup is textured

And the sea green is my favorite color this week

The vinyl I used has a few things going for it, texture on the cup, glitter on the pink, and my favorite color for the fancy font.

I decided I couldn't have my coffee set without including a k-cup holder. So I modified one from the Dino Dig set.
***To see how I modified this box from the Dino Dig set, please visit the tutorial here: Sugar Bean Cards***
There's just something good about a nice hot coffee in a paper cup!
Add in a pastry and it completes the day for sure.
This little card is a perfect size for a quick note to a friend or co-worker.
I added some pop up tape behind the message just for a little bit of pop.

Come Rain or Come Shine......

.....from the Soundtrack of the Danish Summer. It has pretty much been the crappiest summer in history, but as I see it, not everything has been bad. The temperature has been very pleasant with a minimum of hot humid days and the sun has been know to shine on occasion :-D

This weather inspired me to make this Birthday card to a girlfriend of mine whose Birthday is here in August. It could easily have been made for a spring Birthday but that's just my point - we have practically no seasons anymore. It's either Spring or Fall - no more Summer or Winter.

The cute card is designed by Cyndy Gustashaw and is part of her Box Cards 2 Kit.

I used AC Cardstock in Lipgloss, Cricket, Robin's Egg, Melon, Daffodil, Chestnut, Black and Bayou along with patterned paper from Doodlebug Design - Spring Time and Wood Grain patterned paper also from AC.

I inked all the edges with inkpads from Prima and used a white Silhouette Sketch Pen to write the sentiment (it says Congratulations in Danish) on the sign post.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you love the card as much as I do :-)

Pantry Party Gifts with Lisa

Hi and welcome, everyone. Lisa from The Relativity of Paper with you today and I'm sharing three fun gifts for a Pantry Party. Have you ever been to a Pantry Party? Pantry Parties can be a lot of fun and it's a great idea for anyone who is buying a new home, especially, young couples.

Let's start with the CG Under the Sea box, just by changing the papers you can use this box for any occasion. I'm using it as a recipe box. One of the papers I'm using has recipe cards on it and they are a perfect for this box.The gift bag is the perfect size for a gift card, the card is so much fun and gorgeous. The bag and card are from the brand new JGW Apple Dandy Kit. Instead of adding the apples I used stickers from the Carta Bella Homemade with Love Paper Kit. I'm loving paper kits lately. All three projects are super simple to create and can be used for any occasion.

As always, thanks for joining us!

All About Apples

Looking forward to fall?
Tracy here from  the Idea Closet.
I love summer; I love the heat, I love all the activities in summer and I love staying up late and sleeping in.
I also enjoy fall, the cooler temperatures(its suppose to reach 95 degrees today) and getting back into a schedule.

To celebrate the end of summer, I created some fun apple projects from SVG Attic.
This is the new  JGW Apple Dandy Collection.

The first project is this Quilt Patch Apple card.
Its a great project to use scrap paper and fill the patch work square.
The apple is layered and placed  on the card with foam pop dots.
Tie a little bow with twine around the stem.

Next up is the apple tote. This is a perfect little box to use as a neighbor gift or for a teacher.
I tied the twine around the apple again and then on the handle and the cello bag.
Fill the bag with some caramel squares or other fun little treat.

Last is the Apple Dandy Tag.
Tie the tag to a bag and you have a great non -sugar gift ; or combine the apple with the tote with caramel and you have a carameled apple kit.
Who wouldn't want to receive that?

Visit SVG Attic and see what you can do with this new kit.

Back To School Projects with Beth

Hello all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  With school starting tomorrow, of course I had to go with that theme for my projects!
First up, I made the 16 count crayon box file from JGW Back 2 School which fit a delicious homemade peanut butter M&M cookie in a snack sized ziploc bag perfectly!  (The recipe for the cookies can be found HERE if you are interested!)  I tied Midnight Trendy Twine around the boxes.
I made cards using coordinating paper from DCWV's  Grade School stack.  The two pencil cards are for my older boys who will be going into 2nd and 5th grade.  That file is also from JGW Back 2 School.  I added pink enamel dots from GMD Beach Party dots.  The panel I wrote on is actually the negative cuts from the window opening on the crayon boxes.
My little guy is going into Jr. Kindergarten this year during the afternoons, so I made a different card for him.  The file for the apple card is from SDS Gearing Up 4 School.  This card has a bow of Midnight Trendy Twine and enamel dots from GMD Watermelon colors.

Mourners Hat ~ with Cyndy G

Hello today I am sharing one of my favorite files from SVG Attic - the Mourner's Hat from JGW Raven Quest.  I just love how this file comes together.  It's not to hard and the result is stunning.

3d Paper Mourner's hat

I used some Mod Podge on my hat to help protect it and I love the result!

Close up of hat showing flower and bow

It took a little bit of work to get the flower looking like I wanted but I am please with the end result.  I painted it with some colored glitter glue.  I think I will be using more of this stuff!

Thank you for stopping by.

Carousel Dreams

Hello all. I-team member Sonja here with a few projects from one of the newest sets, Carousel Dreams. When I first saw this set, I knew I had to do the gift bag, 3D horse, and one of the cards! Cyndy did an excellent job designing this set.
CG Carousel Dreams
When I began planning this project, all I knew was that I wanted to use some rose gold paper. Which I just happened to have ONE sheet left from my Rose Quartz stack courtesy of DCWVinc.
If I had a full stack of just this rose gold paper, I would be a happy crafter! But since I only had one sheet left, I had to be selective on what detailed parts I could use the rose for.
For the horses, I decided to go with a cream/tan/brown scheme.
I placed some clear vellum on the back of the bag so that when I use it, nothing falls out of it!
I used the same papers for all three projects to keep within the theme.
The one thing about photographing the rose gold is that different angles show a different color. Dark, light, just right.
The light pink blanket bounces the light off the bottom of the bag, yet the top is
darker!
I think out of the whole set, the 3D horse is my favorite. But maybe the bag as well, no I really like the card as well.

I just love this box card!
Plus it lies down flat for shipping!
